  • Reason(s) for New Course / Deletion of Course / Warehousing of Course*

This course is designed for students whos placement level is below the placement level for Math 1000 (Math ACT subscore of at least 18) and need some beginning algebra background.  In particular, the course is for students  who have an ACT math subscore of 15-17 and will take Math 0100A as a beginning math coruse during the same term instead of succeeding  Math 0101 in one term and then taking Math 1000 the next term.  This course is a proposed GEP quantitave reasoning statisfying course and is thought of as especially useful for English majors, fine, digital, performing arts majors, and some social science majors.

  • Proposed Date for New Course / Deletion / Warehousing*
    05/09/18
    05/09/18
  • How will this new course / deletion / warehousing affect other departments / programs / courses? Attach documentation.*

It should not have major affect on departments.  Hopefully it will allow students to fullfil the quantitative reasoning component of the GEP earlier than they previously could.

  • Specify the effects on teaching load, institutional resources, and subsidy level.*

It should minimal affect on teaching.  There may be a need for less math 0101 courses and less math 1100 courses.

  • If applicable, please record the names of other initiators who contributed to this proposal
